Modern Slavery Statement
This statement sets out Monahans Professional Services Limited's actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our business and its supply chains.
As a responsible business, we’re committed to upholding the internationally recognised human rights through the way we operate. This statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022.
Monahans Professional Services Limited developed this statement to comply with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines our commitment to preventing modern slavery across our Firm and supply chain. Section 54 of the Act requires companies to be more transparent about how they tackle modern slavery in their supply chain. This includes detailed information on structures and relevant policies and systems. The Firm recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking.
We are absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our corporate activities, and to ensuring that our supply chains are free from slavery, human trafficking, exploitation and discrimination.
Firm’s structure and supply chains
This statement covers the activities of Monahans Professional Services Limited.
Our specialist team provides large corporates, owner managed businesses and individuals with a complete set of accountancy, advisory and wealth management services. The Company has 11 Partners and around 200 staff in eight offices across the South West.
Monahans Group LLP is a member of PrimeGlobal, a worldwide association of independent accounting firms.
The Company in the United Kingdom currently operates in 8 different offices: Bath, Chippenham, Frome, Glastonbury, Melksham, Swindon, Taunton and Trowbridge.
Due diligence
The Company undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new clients and suppliers and regularly reviews its existing clients and suppliers.
Documents proving the right to work in the UK are always checked by the Company for all new employees when they start working for the Firm. Temporary staff from agencies are always thoroughly checked prior to appointment. All employees are given an employment contract and are made aware of all internal policies and procedures, as well as their statutory entitlements and other benefits.
Relevant policies
We have policies covering equal employment and non-discrimination, as well as anti-slavery and human trafficking. We also adhere to the ethical standards of the ICAEW for Chartered Accountants. The Company is committed to ensuring that employees are able to provide anonymous feedback. We are also committed to our Corporate Social Responsibility. Training all new employees undergo comprehensive training including Modern Slavery, Equality and diversity and Health and Safety. This is alongside Health and Safety training. The induction process is completed within the first week of employment.
