Spring Budget 2024: Summary and Key Announcements
On 6th March, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt delivered his Budget for Long Term Growth which built on the key theme from the previous Autumn Statement; boosting the UK economy.
There was an emphasis on lowering taxes, improving public services and increasing investment in the UK, all of which are intended to contribute towards building a stronger and more resilient economy. There were genuinely welcome measures within the Budget such as the cut in National Insurance and changes to the High Income Child Benefit Charge income thresholds although some of the announcements appeared to have a clear political motivation and there was very little for UK businesses to take away from the changes proposed.
Our Summary and Key Announcements publication provides some further detail around all of the announcements made in the Spring Budget. The publication also includes a few smaller changes that were tucked away in the government policy documents released once the Budget speech had been made.
We summarise some of the most important announcements and future proposals in our Spring Budget Summary, which you can download here.
