Flying the flag for apprentices

Monahans climbed 38 places in The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers 2026 rankings – and we couldn’t be more pleased with that result.

These rankings celebrate employers across the UK that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to apprenticeships, creating meaningful career pathways, investing in skills development, and supporting apprentices to succeed.

We are pleased to reveal that Monahans climbed from 94th place to 56th – a huge 38 places from our previous ranking.

Our inclusion in the Top 100 highlights the strength of our apprenticeship programme at a time when young people aged between 16 and 24 not in education or training has climbed to an all-time high of 16%.

We truly believe apprenticeships offer a valuable career path for aspiring accounting and business professionals with the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience while studying towards recognised qualifications.

Don’t forget, if you hire apprentices as part of your work force, there are some tax advantages too. If your apprentice is under 25 and on an approved apprenticeship, you generally do not pay employer Class 1 National Insurance on their earnings up to the upper secondary threshold.

Plus, if your annual pay bill is under £3m and therefore your business doesn't pay the Apprenticeship Levy, the government could pay up to 100% of the training costs.

If you want to know more about hiring apprentices and picking up some tax advantages along the way, contact Monahans to see how we can help.
