Stevie Heafford

I joined Monahans in November 2025 as a Senior Tax Consultant, following a long and varied career in tax.

I started my professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where I completed my accountancy training before moving into tax. I initially specialised in trusts and estates, before gaining broader experience across both personal and corporate tax and qualifying with the CIOT.

My background

Much of my career was spent at Grant Thornton in the Private Client and Entrepreneur Team, advising on a wide range of tax planning matters. I then moved to Mazars as a Tax Director, before becoming a Private Client Tax Partner and Head of Trusts and Estates at HW Fisher in London. After retiring in July 2025, I relocated to the South West and now support Monahans on a consulting basis.

I have a broad grounding in tax, but my focus at Monahans is on tax planning for individuals and trusts. I particularly enjoy working on planning that involves the interaction of different taxes. The key areas I currently deal with include inheritance tax, capital gains tax, employee ownership trusts, and trusts and estates matters.

Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors by the sea, walking my dog and hunting for fossils on the beach. I also volunteer at the museum in Lyme Regis. I’m a regular theatre and cinema goer and love live music. I steward at Glastonbury Festival every year. I also enjoy attending comic and Star Trek conventions (and occasionally Transformers ones too!), although I’ve yet to dress up as a giant robot.
